I'm more of an amateur 2D artist than a web designer or whatever, so i'm pretty new to this stuff. My main problem is that i design these nifty looking 2D 'layouts' in photoshop, with plans to cut them up and use them as a webdesign (ala fireworks). however, when i chop everything up and put it all together in dreamweaver, things dont' line up properly (div layer's look lined up in dreamweaver, but they dont line up in mozilla/IE). also, what works in mozilla doesnt work in IE. how do you guys get all this stuff to line up properly? do i have to make a mozilla site/IE site and go through all that? keep in mind i'm a novice web developer/designer, so talk to me like i'm a 3 year old

thanks in advance for any and all replies

Im guessing you're using tables to align all this stuff right?

yes, tables. i've also tried using layers (which seem more convenient, but never line up).

Make sure you set the cellpadding, cell spacing, and border to "0". Sometimes if that's not the problem, you may need to align and/or valign the images, or adjust the size by a couple of pixels, which won't distort the image..If this doesn't help, maybe you can upload a screenshot of your problem?
