    I have added sound to a project, but am having synch problems.

    In Flash MX, when I Test Movie, the sound is synched perfectly. When I open the .swf file, perfect as well.

    When I run the movie from an html page, the synch is off. None of the sound synch options seem to help...

    Don't know what to do next.

    Thanks for the help!

    try adding a preloader.
    just have the flash movie with sound in frame 1 of scene2.
    then click on frame 1 of scene 1 in the time line and press F9.
    then put this code in the box that displays:

    Code:
    ifFrameLoaded ("Scene 2",1) {

    gotoAndPlay("Scene 2",1);

    }
    i had the same problem before but it was because the music wasn't loading as fast as the movie.

    well, I tried that and didn't see any difference.

    I guess what I don't understand is this:

    Why is the sound synced perfectly when I play the swf file from my desktop, but if I open the page the swf file is embedded in, the sound is out of sync.

    I am doing all of this from my desktop, so there shouldn't be any problem with loading times.

    If it helps, the animation is ahead of the sound.

    BTW, when I press F9, I get the accessibility window, but I put the code in the Action window. This is what you were talking about, correct?

    When you load a .SWF and it opens in the standalone flash player it loads the whole .swf movie before it plays it.

    When you load it in the plugin for a browser it starts playing the movie before it's loaded all the frames to the movie.

    make sure you have it set to export it first frame.

    The way I've successfully done it before is to:
    1) import the sound from an external file so it displays in the library.
    2) select frame 1 of the scene that the movie is in
    3) drag the sound file from the library over to the movie/drawing space.
    4) then set sync to start.
    5) then do the preloader i said in previous post and it all worked.

    btw: if the sound is after the movie has started then do the preloader to check that whichever frame contains the sound is loaded before it plays frame 1.

    If it's an "event" sound, it will not synch by FPS, per se. Instead, it will loosely synch with the animation as best the computer can manage. Since the ActiveX plugin for the web runs slower than your local flash player, that will make your synch screwy.

    Try changing it to a "stream" sound. That will maintain perfect synch, even if it means skipping frames to do so.
