    Hey all,

Can anybody explain to me how flash works with transparency. I have tried saving gif files on a transparent background and then importing them into flash but they just default to a white background.

So what I'm wondering is, is there any way to either convert a color to tranparency or import images with transparency already in place?

    Thanks in advance

For transparency to import, the image must be a .png file. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I always use, and it always works. I believe there are 2 different png types, PNG-18(?) and PNG-24(maybe). I believe I normally use the latter. Just save the file, then in Flash, go to File > Import to Library and there ya go.

I agree with minger, but I feel like it should work as a gif too. Are you saving the transparency?

I have an eye for detail like you'd never believe.

I agree, it should work with transparent .gif files, but I don't think it does. I believe Flash needs those .png files
