I'm creating a multimedia cd about candles.
When i click on the "History of Candles" link i want the text that is being scrolled to fade in. I created a motion tween with alpha 0 on one frame and then 100 on another. When viewing it on the timeline it works fine. But when i preview the movie, the fade effect doesn't work.

My copy of Flash chokes on everything after frame 9, (your 'tween5' symbol.) I could recommend to you trying a different method. I followed the tutorial listed below and didn't encounter any lag/speed issues.

On another note I'd like to suggest naming ALL of your layers and grouping your library objects into appropriate sub folders. It makes things easier to find.

I still can't get the actual text to fade in. It fades in everything else but the text. Maybe because its dynamic?
