    Hi,

I'm looking to make a small portfolio site for a friend of mine who does investments. Does anyone know of a good flash object that I can feed data into (or have it take if from RSS) and build it into a stock chart with the usual features of a stock chart? It would also have to be able to show portfolio data.

    Thanks for any advice,
    Jordan

ok, so disregard the RSS comment. I'm not looking for a reader.

I need something that I can feed data into (i dont care how, ill work around that) that takes stock data and charts it. I'd like to be able to feed in my own data.

I have a client looking for the same thing right now. I'm planning on building a scraper that gets the data from Yahoo! Finance. If you figure out something better, let me know! :-)

Theres a lot of them that will pull data from yahoo for you, you just give it a symbol, but thats not what I need. I need to be able to feed it a custom data set, like the generator object that macromedia made.

Can someone make me a flash object from that generator object?

    Got it.

Here's a CSV interface to Yahoo! Finance. Just enter the symbols in s and the options you want back in f and it returns a CSV.

    Here's Apple Computer:

    Good luck! :-D

Here you go.... my first version of a Stock chart parser... just input the symbol and it returns the pertinent data for display in a Flash page:

    Dow Jones Index:
    http://www.transio.com/cc/finance.php?symbol=^DJI

    NASDAQ Index:
    http://www.transio.com/cc/finance.php?symbol=^IXIC

    Apple Computers:
    http://www.transio.com/cc/finance.php?symbol=AAPL

    Microsoft
