You can export the animation in SWF and import that into Flash is the best way to that

Hi MadRukus, thanks for the reply...

The question is more about which tools are best to create the .flv

I presume you ment flv and not swf?...

    Thank You :-) -Hagen

Yes I was getting ahead of myslef but I guess you can embed the video in either format flv or swf, if you're going to embed the video in a flash header of some sort. In any case Flash is the tool of choice.

OK I managed to do this in the end....

I used Google Sketchup to create a 3D model...

I Made several different scenes (camara positions)... than I exported an anmimation between scenes to a .avi direct from Sketchup...

Adobie Media encoder then produces the .flv which was played in a standard flash player...

    That's it simple! see: www.3dboscombe.co.uk

Yeah, just straight import to FLV is simple. Flash will actually convert AVI to FLV on import as well.

If you wanted to alter the vid in some way, you could use After Effects to do that, but seems like you're good as is!

By the way, if you want a better realism to the rendering, try using 3DS Max, Maya, or other 3D package that allows you to use complex materials and lighting.

    thanks

can I export from Sketchup to other other packages? wouldbe a pain to have to start from scratch... any views on compatibility?

just had a quick look and looks like you need sketchup pro to have anything other than .dae

    would .dae be suitable?

I would also be intrested in packages that would handle the fly though better...

    Thanks -Hagen
