    Flash Loader?

    Thought you guys would like this... a little flash loader I just made for a beer company's website. It's 100% Flash.

    :-D

    PS - I was wondering if anyone's having rendering issues? I have a lot of alphas in there.

    That's pretty cool! How did you make it? Did it need actionscript?

    The bubbles use actionscript.

    The loader animation right now is just a tween, but would eventually be actionscripted as well.

    Everything else is just careful use of masks and alpha gradients.

    About how long would it take for a person to create something like that?

    very nice transio! my two favourite things combined! (flash and beer) i was actually just coming on here to ask if anyone knows a good preloader tutorial. i want something more than just a normal percentage bar but dont know how to do it. I ordered a book on actionscript with my spiffy new credit card but it only arrives in 2 weeks. i cant wait! can u help me in the mean time?

    I think your just showing off.

    It looks really good, and it loads fine from what I can see.

    looks pretty cool, are you going to use the drawing api to get the alpha to function with action script? Put a lable on the bottle and it will be uber-cool..

    I said uber :tired:

    This looks sorta like the holding page i have for a site im working on..

    Waynarky,

    Thx... you can make any animation into a preloader. It's just a matter of plugging in a little bit of actionscript to control the movement... instead of a tween. What you do is create a movie clip with the name "loader" and plug in something like this:

    Code:
    //frame 1:
    var startPos = 0;
    var endPos = 500;

    //frame 2:
    loader._y = Math.ceil(
            (_root.getBytesLoaded() /_root.getBytesTotal) *
            (endPos-startPos)) +startPos;

    //frame 3:
    gotoAndPlay(2);
    I just wrote that... but it should work... if it doesn't, let me know and we'll make it work

    PS - in the case of the bottle preloader, the part that's moving is the mask on the beer, which is actually a movieclip that's animated with the little waves. This is a very complex preloader... but fun !!
