Swish is supposedly easier to use than Flash but whatever floats your boat. I believe there are trial versions of both that you can try.

Well Macromedia wrote Flash to begin with and should have the ultimate compatibility...

You can't compare Swish with Flash. Swish is fine if you want Flash effects easily and quickly, if you want more than that get Flash and take the time to learn it, it may not be easy but it is worth the effort. Flash is amazing.

Swish is good for simple flash like effects and little things like that..

but if you're serious and wanna get paid for this than there's not even a valid comparison between the two..

a couple of things that almost all flash sites have are Percentage Preloaders and Skinned Scrollbars... both of which you can't do in Swish.. well you can make a scrollbar but it would take you days.. where in flash you can make an unique scrollbar in 5 minutes..

Also.. text in Swish appears a little blurry.. you can never make it as crisp as a Dynamic Text Field in Flash..

Swish also has no way of interacting with things like HTML, XML.. that speaks for itself considering the things you can do with Flash with those 2 languages right there

Actually, compatibility isn't an issue here. Macromedia published specifications for the SWF file format, so Swish is just as compatible as if you made it in Flash.
