    HI,

I am trying to re-create a colour similar to the one in the attached image, I am aware that the leaves have a light source (similar to foil block) which give the depth but if possible would like to at least get the closest colour whether it be metallic or flat to use for this project. The client has used the words 'opulent aubergine' or 'deep purple orchid'. Can anyone advise the best solution or possible hex, CMYK values to gain the closest match?

    Many thanks for looking

There's a tool I use - free download - Colour picker. You drag the eyedropper over the screen and the palette changes colour - when you have the colour you want, you can get the code for it in RGB, or HEX .
I find it invaluable if I need or want to duplicate a colour.

    Either that or try this
http://www.iconico.com/colorpic/ I use it alot. you can create your own pallets with it too.

Of course you could always use the color picker tool in Illustrator and drag the color to the in house pallet.
