    Logo export from Illustrator CS

    I have been searching google for an hour with no progress (im sure I lack the proper vocabulary) so I am hoping someone her can help me.

    I downloaded an eps file that has 8 logos on it. I do not know how to extract just one of the logos for my website. I know this is basic but I need help as I am very new to Illustrator CS6. I want to use one of the logos > remove the background > and save as a PNG.

    I really appreciate your help with hopefully step by step (and maybe even best practices)

    Well, this can be frustrating job if background is part of logos. Sometimes illustration is made to use background white.

    However, try to do next:
    Select the illustration.
    Go to Object->Expand or Expand appearance
    Right click on logo and from menu choose "Ungroup"
    Repeat last action until option "Ungroup" becomes unavailable
    Deselect all by clicking somewhere outside of the object
    Select background and delete it. If logos are preserved (no any part of logo is deleted or changed) you can step forward
    Select all parts of logo you want to convert to png
    Copy it
    Open new document in desired size and paste
    Go to File->Export
    In dialog choose 'png' from "Format' dropdown and save it.
