(I am new to Fireworks, just got it so this question might seem stupid)I recently made a image in fireworks and converted it to jpeg. Latter i decided i hated the background and was going to change it to another thing, but i seemed to have lost the png and only have the jpeg to work with. I do not have photoshop but i do have fireworks hence why i'm asking how to do this in fireworks. How would i change the background in fireworks with out touching the item i have in the center of it?

The only way you could do it would be to get the lasoo tool or a different marquee (whichever one suits your image) and then select the image and copy it. Then do a new document (the same size as the old one) and Paste it there.

That should work fine, but depending on the image, it could take a while
