I have a flash file that takes in a xml file, and uses this data to display text etc. Some of this file can contain characters such as , etc and other german charaters. The xml is fine but when flash tries to display it, it comes up with just a square. does anyone know how to solve this.

The perticular font you are tying to use may not have that character/glyph defined.

You might have to switch your font. Or see if embedding the whole font helps.
