    Hi,

    I have a button that takes me to a frame via gotoandplay. How can i pass a variable togthers with that? So when i press the button, i would like a variable to be sent together with it, in order for the movieclip on the next frame to know what data to load. Sounds complicated, but i hope you understand.
    Its kinda like sending a variable to a PHP, but then to another frame instead of to a PHP-file.

    ok i found some things here.
    However, i still would like to know this:
    with _parent. i can refer to a higher level; But how so i refer to a lower level? Because my variable is defined 2 levels below the main timeline, and i need to get the variable in the main line.

    just refer to the instance clip: for example let's say this is how everything is set up

    root : movieClip1 : movieClip2 :movieClip 3 : movieClip4
    (all nested)

    What you know is from movieClip2 to access the root timeline you use _parent._parent.play ();

    To access Movie Clip 4 from Movie clip 2 you use.
    movieClip3.movieClip4.play ();
