    Hello,

    I am currently building a site and I am curious, my site using thumbs that are similiar in size to another site (only a few pixels difference) and i set quality to 0 on PS and I get a 10-15kb image!

    Is he using an outside program ot PS to compress the image alot, but what I dont undestand that he has retained the quality!!!!!

    Please help.

    He could have used an outside program. I actually commented on this program the other day. ProJPEG from Boxtop software is a very good jpg compression plug in for photoshop. It utilizes the huffman algorythem to compress frequently repeated pieces of code in your file. This can drasticly reduce filesize with out producing any visual defects. There is plenty of other featuers the plug in offers. It is not free but you do get the oppertunity to try it out for free.

    YES! BoxTop ProJpeg is absolutely magnificent... gah. I've been using it for a couple of years and I can't believe how much it reduces the file sizes... it is my tool of choice for all of my JPeg exports. Good stuff.
