    Just playing around. Opinions?

BTW, filburt, I know you don't like people advertising their junk on your site, but some of those links are actually useful to people like me, like that royalty free music link that you deleted in this forum. I've been looking for a good source of royalty free stuff for my flash projects.

    Anyhow...

    - having the shadow on the head to the fire hair makes it weird.
    - the plastic is pretty normal.
    - I don't like the bumps on the plastic from whatever facial or beard hair that is.
    - the bottom of the ear looks screwed up like it's from india.
    Overall:
    - 10 out of 10; just a few minor things

edit: i suggest that you never use frames on your website. every web designer hates them because there are really bad problems:
    - the visitor can't save your site to favorites.
    - the frames make everything look weird sometimes.

edit: please use tables to make your site. everything is very nice with tables.

    Zion,

Thanks for the comments. Here are my replies:

    1. Shadow on the fire, I agree, but it looked weirder (if that's a word) when it was just fire blazing out of the skull. I was going for more of a maroonish red (like a deep fire color) than shadow... not too happy with the results.

    2. The plastic is supposed to be water I was going for a fire / water look to the image. I think the biggest problem is that the "water" portions are too saturated and reflect blue color rather than the black background. I'm gonna play with that some more and see what I can do.

    3. I liked the look of the beard bumps. That's why I kept them. The original image I made was smoothed, but I like this better (like ripples in the water)

    4. The funky ear thing is supposed to be the water dripping. It was a little touch that I added.

In terms of my web site, I agree 100% with your comments. I actually never use tables [EDIT: OOPS, I mean Frames!!!], but I used them in this case because I went with cheapy hosting that doesn't allow server-side includes and caches pages, so it made putting the thing together with regular HTML a pain in the arse.

I'm actually a pretty good web designer myself. You can see my old web design company's site at:

    http://www.transio.com

And I even started writing an online book on HTML... Still a work in progress:

Just so you don't think I'm a noob

    Thanks for the feedback!!!

i think the portrait is cool, although the bumps make you look like you have craters in your face and the ear does look slightly weird

what program did you use to make this?

    Thanks...

I made some mods to it. Like it better or worse this way?

Personally, I think it's a little too saturated, and too blue. I'm gonna see what I can do about making it look more like water without losing the integrity of the shape by making it too clear
