    Hiya.

What I am looking for is quite advanced, so all the help I can get I will be truely grateful.

Anyway - what I am looking for is this.
it will be *@domain.com scrolling on and off of the screen, the way it looks does not matter at the moment.

BUT the * can be from a list of names.
On my email address i have setup forwarding, so you can put anything @domain.com.

Also, for the amount of time it scrolls on for and where it scrolls can all be random.

ANy ideas on how to do this?

    Thanks
    Amnesia

Were you ever planning on updating the stuff in *, or just a static list?

For static, it can be done in photo editing sw (no clue how) as an animated gif, for dynamic, php can do it, or even javascript.

Okay, I have found an example of what I am looking for.
Here - http://www.swishzone.com/movies.php?...d&link_id=2118 - You can see that there is constant scrolling text at the bottom. That then goes. Well I am looking for that sort of scrolling but with random email addys like above....

    Any ideas?

So you need it to be animated? If you need it to be animated, flash and actionscript are the obvious choice.. Flash 6 and 7 have good methods to doing exactly that.. I'm no pro at Flash, though, so I'll find some links for you...

    http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Ac...a-85/index.php

If you don't know any flash or if you don't have flash, or the money that will be difficult.. PHP/MYSQL/DHTML would be the best solution overall I think.. You would need to know this stuff, which I don't think you do...

    http://www.mysql.com
    http://www.php.net
    http://www.w3schools.com

    More specific:

    http://www.w3schools.com/dhtml/tryit...tml_scrolltext
You would use the <marquee> tag to do horizontal scrolling.. Or javascript.. I don't really know much about <marquee>.. So javascript might be the better answer..

The basic premise is to set up a database that lists all of the URLS.. optimally, it would have an admin section, to add links.. But you could do it through the MYSQL admin thing in your server..

You would call it through PHP code..

    http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/phpmysql

and include it into your javascript or marquee..EG:

    Code:
    <marquee><?php echo $output; ?></marquee>
No matter which method you go for you're going to need to do some reading.. I personally would do it through PHP/MYSQL..

You could also use a flat database, such as a .txt file or a .dat file, to store all your information and you could load it with PHP or Javascript..

    http://us4.php.net/manual/en/function.fread.php - PHP file reading..

Looking for a javascript one.. Since I don't really use javascript that much..

OK.. I have found out that reading files with Javascript is a slippery slope and probably shouldn't be done..
