    in photoshop 6 i was able to use the scroll wheel on my mouse to zoom without having to hold down ctrl+alt

    cant do it on 7/cs

    google hasnt helped

    any suggestions?

    thanks DCScene but theres wasnt an option for the mouse. tried checking and unchecking.

    guess ill have to get used to ctrl+alt

    If the image fits in the small window, the scroll mouse should zoom in and out, but if the image is too big for its window and there is a scroll bar, it will scroll

    yeah. just hit ctrl-0 to fit the image in a window, then use the wheel to scroll.
