    In the site:
    http://www.unitedforward.com/,
    at the bottom of the text, there are two arrows. When your mouse rolls over them, they scroll.

    I've been pondering how to do these things for an awfully long time. I can't figure it out.

    Someone, please help me!!

    Answer

    You need to give your text fields an instance name, it only works with dynamic text im pretty sure.

    and then you need to make a movie clip for an arrow..

    drag two instances of the arrow to the stage.. for up and down

    put an instance name of uparrow on one and downarrow on the other just for reference

    then put this code at the same frame on the timeline that your arrows and textfield are in.. (modified of course)

    Code:
    	_root.uparrow.onRollOver = function() {
    		currentscroll = "up";
    	}
    	_root.downarrow.onRollOver = function() {
    		currentscroll = "down";
    	}
    	_root.uparrow.onRollOut = function() {
    		currentscroll = "none";
    	}
    	_root.downarrow.onRollOut = function() {
    		currentscroll = "none";
    	}
    	_root.uparrow.onRelease = function() { // If you click on the arrow it takes it to the top
    		_root.textbox.scroll = 0;
    	}

    	_root.downarrow.onRelease = function() { // takes it to the bottom
    		_root.textbox.scroll = _root.textbox.maxscroll;
    	}

    		onEnterFrame = function(){ //Every frame it checks to see what way to go if any
    			switch(currentscroll) {
    				case "up":
    				_root.textbox.scroll -= 1;
    				break;
    				case "down":
    				_root.textbox.scroll += 1;
    				break;
    				case "none":
    				_root.textbox.scroll += 0;
    				break;
    				}
    			}
    let me know if you have any more questions
