I need to know more about graphics !!

I've used most of the graphicical effects on flash and several on fireworks.

    Paintshop / photoshop ....eeerrrr !!
    I haven't got a clue about these.

Which application should I spend some time learning next for general website graphics. Is there a stage of theory needed as well before you can understand the applications well?

photoshop is the best in my opinion, its great for doing simple stuff, but when you get better at graphics there are loads of features to make work of the highest order

Yeah, read the thread above. Get Photoshop next. It will change your life. You can do amazing stuff with it. Then get Illustrator.

Transio did some vector illustrations and posted them in this thread:

Not sure if they were done w/ Illustrator, but illustrator can do that.

I'm much bigger on PhotoShop than Illustrator. It's less of a resource hog and I can actually draw things and do things that I intend to do with it.
