    How do you create backgrounds like this is Photoshop CS3 and incorporate it into a website?

    They have the body background as that image and have it centered and the content is also centered. This design is a lot like how Nick La's website is.

    it looks like it's a lot simpler than it appears. It's basically a couple bursts layered on top of each other with some vector shapes layered on top. The vector shapes are just have gradient fills, then the there are some semi-transparent circles. I'll give that it was probably time-consuming, but not that complicated. You can just go and download some vector shapes and start playing around with them.

    Or you could just buy a premade vector graphic from iStockPhoto and throw that into a Photoshop with some custom elements to make a design. That's what I did for Zampiva.com

    Yes, you can create a background in any photoshop, first you can draw a background with solid or multicolored gradiation, and the gradiation should be from top to bottom mixed colors, and you can have a look into this photoshop.

    Then, you can slice it one pixel from top to bottom and then you use it into your website using background-image: parameter in css.

    Either by drawing it manually. Or if you can find ones like them, brushes for either photoshop or gimp.. whichever you use.

    draw out your background in photoshop, using brushs and tools, add a gradient add some effects.
