    Hello
I want to insert rectangles with rounded corners to certain sections of my page as backgrounds. When you create rounded cornered rectangle, the file still saves as a regular rectangle overall. So in order to have the rounded corner rectangle appear that way, i must have the general background same color as the areas outside the rounded corner rectangle, which is not a good solution, because sometimes I may want different colors (and what if I wanted to put the rounded corner rectange over a picture background, then it would look real ugly). Is there a way around this? I mean the file can never save as a rounded corner rectangle correct? But how about saving in shapes other than a square? I am using paintshop pro by the way.

you want to save it as a gif with transparency. Im not too sure if thats an option with paintshop pro but I would have thought it is.

To do it in photoshop you would create an empty layer underneath the layer your working on, then delete the picture outside the rounded corners then save for web as a gif with transparency.

    Hope that helps.

    Check out this thread.
Transparency is getting there as far as browser support, but it's not reliable.
