    Hi Folks:

First of all, I use fireworks, but when I read people talking about how to do this or that on PS I can usually translate to fireworks, as they seem to work pretty similar. So if anyone can help, dont hesitate to speak in PS terms.

I want to use an image as the filling of a font, instead of a color or a gradient. Basically I have the letters U, S, and A in stencil font, and I want the US flag showing as the color of the font, how would I do this? This is probably simple, but I never mess with fonts too much passed adding a few shadows or glows, etc.

    Any help would be great!
    Peace, Mike

In Fireworks, once you have your text and your image behind it, then you click the text and hold down "shift" and click the image, so both are selected, then just click Modify>Mask>Group As Mask, and you ready to go!

Yep - That's kind of how it works in Photoshop - I'm starting to try to learn Fireworks but it is taking a while - good to know I can come here for expert help!

Fireworks and Photoshop are basically the same, Fireworks was developed by Macromedia, before they were purchased by Adobe.
