    So I made the following Tutorial in 2009 I haven't sliced up a design since. Nowadays all I do is cut and save the elements I need and do the rest with CSS. With that said here it is.

    I think slicing a mockup up became a lot less utilities when table based layout went out the window. I may be wrong though.

    I too would sooner recreate elements in CSS.

    I totally agree with you Matt. I first started out using tables; slicing a design up in PS was the best way I found to accommodate my lack of knowledge and it "worked" for the time being, but now it's pretty much obsolete, or at least should be lol.. But people still ask for slicing tuts, and I reluctantly share mine.
