Why is it that on some websites, their logo or some images on there have blurred dots in the images. Sometimes on the front page on the CNN homepage, the photo they have on there has random groups of blurred dots?? I was just wondering because I have noticed it alot and want to know if its caused by an image defect or what?

Could be artifacting due to poor JPG compression. If you have a flat-panel monitor, things like that tend to show up more than on a CRT.

possibly, but normally it is bad compression rates.
