This is a very general question, but I need suggestions on effects. I've just feathered three pics, and slapped em on a new canvas. My purpose is to practice adding effects, but I don't know where to start. I'm not a newbie to photoshop by any means. In fact, I'm relatively familar with it. But turning this into this is quite impressive to me. It's more than I can do. (Ok, so maybe I'm not the most advanced 'designer' in the world) I've tried grey scaling and colorizing, and it's time for me to expand my horizons! Where should I start?

Mess around with Layers and "Layer Blending Mode".

Read some tutorials, and you'll find out how other people achieve common effects. www.good-tutorials.com is a good place to start.

I like to apply images...its a very rewarding experience. I usually end up taking fractals and applying them to stock images of fire or skulls to create new designs. I will post a tutorial on how I create some interesting stuff for everyone. If there isnt one already, Im sure someone will have posted such a tut before myself
