I'm a student in high school and I'm tired of the stock fonts that are on my computer, but I haven't found any large, good websites that offer free fonts.
I'm a graphic-oriented web-designer, so it doesn't matter much of the fonts aren't common. Does anyone have any suggestions?

www.acidfonts.com is good for off-the-wall and movie inspired fonts. Far from professional but fun.

I've never found a free font site that has many decent ones to chose from; you can probably scrounge 1 or 2 good ones per a site. However they are often a great resource for getting themed fonts when making posters/banners etc.
