A client of mine noticed something very unusual when he used a browser-based upload feature I had set up for him to upload photographs to his website. When he had the image offline in PhotoShop, the image was significantly brighter and sharper than it was when he uploaded it to the site. He emailed it to me, and the image looked identical to the darker one on the site. My question, therefore, is whether or not there is something in PhotoShop that brings out the clarity of the image more than other programs and if that same clarity can be saved onto the web.

    Thanks.

It may very well be because of the way both yours and you client's monitors are calibrated.

Also try zipping up the psd files before transfering.

nsr81: the same thing happened on his monitor though. Same monitor, same computer. The only difference was looking at it through a web browser vs. looking at it through PhotoShop. In other words, he changed it in PhotoShop to how he wanted it. He uploaded it using a browser-based upload. The image itself looked different on the website than it did in PhotoShop. That's what's really weird about it. I could understand if it were two different monitors and two different computers, but it's not.

Photoshop has color correction on by default, browsers don't. Turn off color correction in Photoshop in the Preferences.

I'm using 7.0 (my client is too) and I can't seem to find the color correction setting in Preferences, nor does the help have any direct mention of it. Is there another way I can turn it off?
