In photoshop (I am using version 7.0), I have like a background set of images for a banner that are faded out at 50%. However, they are next to each other and the transitions between images is very straight. Is there any way I can get the transitions to blend into the image that is next to it? This effect would be quite useful.

I hope you understood this (why do I put that at the end of most of my posts?) and thanx.

Layer masks or select image on top of pic 1 using ctrl+left click in the layer in layers window. Go to select menu then feather and select something say, 10-15 then press ctrl+shift+i abd press delete a few times until desired effect.
