Yesterday I played around with some space tutorials for photoshop and came up with this:

    What do you think?

P.S. All of it has been made with Photoshop from scratch.

Sorry I can't see it. It times out after so long...

    *Edit

I can see it now, not bad. Is that the tutorial by Greg Martin ?

The stars still look a bit artificial though.

Not bad, though the ring around your orange planet (the blue/white fade) seems very unordinary...

Yes exactly, but I mixed the 2 tutorials. I agree with Trico about the stars, they didn't come up good. The blue thingy is the atmosphere. Btw I'll try to make the Earth, but later on

May I offer a suggestion for creating more realistic stars? I learned this from a tutorial somewhere, I coulnd't find it or remember the name of the author, sorry.
Create a new document with a black background in Photoshop. Apply Filter>Artistic>Film Grain. Then Image>Adjustments>Threshold. Play with the threshold setting to get the intensity and quantity of stars you want. You can experiment with Filter>Distort for a random look. Wave makes some interesting star patterns. Duplicate the layer and apply different blend options works well.
    Hope this helps!
