thank for those who helped on last query-sorry to be a pest but have two further queries, then that is it!!

please look at this web template: http://www.mark.gbr.fm/1021/frames.php
was wondering how to design the menu on the left (in simple terms) in either fireworks or photoshop- do you make one shape and slice it up and if so how?

    2) And secondly i need to slice a jpg image in two so that i can put one bit in left frame and rest in right frame so it looks like one seamless image-know how to crop one bit in photoshop but always lose rest of image!!

    1) I'm pretty sure that image was made all in one and split up. But I'm not sure how to make text go over the image, maybe the image split was a table bg, or something... To slice a image, I put it below.

    2) I'm not sure where it is on the menu, but theres a 'Slice' tool. It's one of the first 6, and on the right part. You can slice the images there.

After, go Save For Web. You can double click on the sliced images, so you can make it link, or change the name. If you don't need to do one of those, you can go directly to saving. You will be able to save both images, and if you want, a HTML file that shows how to put 'em together with a table.

I'm not 100% sure about both of the answers... I hope it helps, if not, sorry...

Another thing you can do is take your image and copy it to a different filename using Windows Explorer. Take your first image and crop the right half off and crop the left half off of the second. You may find that easier.

I personally hate frames. I'd use a table set up and make sure you have image preloaders...

It can be done using the FileSystemObject in ASP. Just look up FileSystemObject on http://www.4guysfromrolla.com and there's a ton of info on it.

Don't know what you mean though by "load all the contents of a folder."
