no offense, but you won't get far with a geocities site, you get any kind of popularity, and you'll be brought down to using bandwidth

    Agreed. In order of priority:
    1. Get an actual host
    2. Get an actual domain (.tk is known as a crappy domain extension)
    3. Get Google to obsessively crawl your site.

Why is a paid hosting better than a non paid for google? I thought that the only think a paid hosting gives is that its better (more space, supports more things...).

i would say because it gets rid of all the adverts, subdomain etc (eg. geocities) which essentially makes it their property and dilutes out the meaning of your website...

    thats just a guess/what i think

because it has geocities in the domain for a start, so it takes it away from being your own

To get Google to spider your site a lot, you need to do three things:

    1) Update your content at least weekly (hint: random content is your friend that way, if it's appropriate to your site).
    2) Get as many quality inbound links to your site as possible (since Google crawls other sites in addition to your own).
    3) Get your site into DMOZ.org (a subset of 2, but I figure it merits its own category since DMOZ is the directory that Google uses for directory results.)

    Hope this helps!
