    Google AdSense

Me and a friend are creating our website at the minute but we heard if you acquire Google AdSense you can generate monthly payments for advertising on your site, I know that it wont be a lot of money but I was wondering if anyone knew how to acquire Google AdSense and what they think of it or is it worth getting ?

    thanks

You have to have a site with at least 3,000 page views per month (I believe...that count may have changed). So if you're just creating it now, you won't be able to apply right away and get it.

You basically go on, fill out the application, they approve or decline it and you put the ad codes in and start publishing ads.

As far as whether or not it's worth getting, that's up to you. But there are several factors involved: the size of your site, how many page views it gets, your target market (some industries do much better than others), your costs associated with the site, etc. You'll know more as you go along than you do right now, so it's probably best to table the Adsense idea for a few months.

I've never had any problems with Adsense and have had an active account for probably around 5 years.
What I do like about Adsense is the advertiser pool is so large that you often see extremely targeted ads in relation to your content.
In addition the ads are often very high quality generating a better chance of the user clicking them. But now Adsense is poor man's cow. If you want to do big in IM you need to have control on your traffic. With adsense you have no control and more often you get kicked out. CPA and CPL is where the gold lies.

Oh another thing I forgot to mention was if you were to add a PayPal donate button to your site could you also have Google AdSense or do these two conflict with any terms ?

    thanks

Not a bit. The only rule that I've ever known of, and I think they've relaxed this a bit, is that they don't want any other contextual ad networks on any page Google ads are running.

These days getting approved by Adsense has become really difficult. To get Adsense you need high quality and unique content on your site. Adsense won't allow any duplicate content. You also need a good amount of traffic.
