What features would you like in the mail system here? (http://www.webdesignforums.net/mail.php ; http://www.webdesignforums.net/mailcheck.php to check mail)

(will dynamically compile this list as replies come in):

    What I will do:
    1. Address book
    2. Support for CC'ing and forwarding
    3. One level of folders
    4. Signature (checkbox to append current forum signature)

    What I won't do:
    1. WYSIWYG editor
    2. Folder hierarchy
    3. HTML mail (instead, when an HTML message is received it will try to convert it to vB code

You won't be able to receive HTML messages for security reasons. Also WYSIWYG is incredibly tedious to implement, as is HTML e-mail (sending).

It already parses vB Code and that should be enough for most people. It will also attempt to translate HTML to vB Code, although naturally it will be far from perfect.

I'm going to implement signatures and address books in beta 2. If they work fine like (amazing enough) the rest of the system is, I'll move on to the other two and maybe any other suggestions.

If all goes (very) well, I'll have a beta done by tonight and implemented here tomorrow. Note that when I test things, mail behavior here might be erratic because I'm going to be running the mail checking script on my home computer, not here.

(side note: the system receives messages, adds them to the database, and immediately trashes everything in the catchall, which is why you must ATM manually check mail and why the interaction above will occur).

Forgot: would you prefer that the system just uses your forums' signature here, or do you want a separate signature for e-mails? The only reason I'd think you'd want two is because vB Codes are used a lot in sigs here that would look strange unless the receiver was also on the wdf domain.
