You can now have a live (well, delayed by at most 15 minutes) feed of posts happening at publicly-accessible forums at WDF. Simply point your RSS reader to:

    http://www.webdesignforums.net/rss.xml

You can download an RSS reader from the links at http://blogspace.com/rss/readers . Here's what the feed looks like in FeedReader:

I think the only thing you can't access WDF through now is my microwave. I'm sure that's not far behind though.

Kickass... my only complaint is it doesn't automatically go to the newest post - just the thread.. but still, very nice

It shouldn't do that because some people may not have read the whole thread, or not at all.

Just noticed the image at the bottom of all pages annoucing WDF via RSS. I think it would be a good idea to link that image to this thread, instead of the actual xml file. Those that don't know what RSS is won't be able to figure it out from the current link, but after reading this thread they might.

Yup, although the XML is generated via templates instead of some XML authoring thing (XML authoring doesn't seem to exist in PHP aranoid: ).

BTW, to mods: this will not show posts from forums like the mod comm forum. The reason is simple: there's no way to provide secure authentication in order to deliver the posts. Right now it just shows anything a guest can view.

Fine by me, although I guess I'll just have to suffer the manual pulling up of the mods forum... ho hum...

Mind posting the background code of this? I'd like to see how you designed it.
