For reasons that only moderators know but that all users (especially WDFplus users) will love, a vB3 upgrade is effectively definite to test an upgraded product that will be installed here.

As you may know, vB3 uses completely different templates from vB2 (what WDF is running). Would you prefer the current style set to be ported to vB3 as closely as possible, or development continued with previous WDF v4 style sets:

Note that among the things that will be immediately broken with a vB3 upgrade are turtle dollars. It will take quite some time to port over to vB3.

On the plus site, there is the possibility that WDF v4 will be multilingual, although still only English posts will be permitted.

As much as I love the current design, the 100% width and need for "something new" sway my vote for the new design. Yay for more work for Filburt!

While the current design of the site is awesome, I agree with spluf that something new would look great. I really like the look of sneak peek 6 and think that an updated look would benefit WDF in the long run.

Yup, I think something new is in order. Although this one is excellent, you gotta update it some time.

    Very appealing design.

I think I accidently misplaced my vote. I initially read it as:
"current design"=the one I'm looking at right now
    and
"new design"=the one you have showed through your attached GIF's.
By that interpretation, I like the new one.

If you by "current one" mean the attached-GIF-new_design, and "new design" mean something I haven't seen yet, then I'll vote for the one I've seen.
    (Unclear ?)

I'm a bit unclear on this:
    1. Turtle dollars: Do they become unavailable for a period of time, or do I loose all my hard earned turtle dollars permanently!
    2. Mutlilingual; Meaning the forum instructional text will be available in select languages, but users have to post in English? I guess if you're able to post in English, you're also able to read the language?
(BTW, I understand why you want all posts in English and I'm comfortable with that :glasses: )

    EDIT:
    Aaah.
I misread Spluf's "..as I like the current design, the "100%" width..."
I thought he meant "the current design's 100% width", which made me think "current design=suggested design.
Disregard the confused part on top.

    Go on ...
Make a refresh. We like your style and everything new is better than the old one (I messed up this expression, nevermind :P)

The turtle dollars shouldn't be lost, but it would not be possible to transfer them.

By multilingual, the forum interface (might) be multilingual, but the post contents will still be in English.

I say go for a new look. The current one is good and I trust the new one will be just as good if not better. Cant imagine you letting it go downhill put it that way.

Will there be any major changes to how to forum can be used? like big new features? OR will be be similar to the current apart from small tweaks and obviously the changes in appearance?
Will you still have all the current features and more on it in other words?

    :-)

A feature used by WDFplus members will be upgraded to the latest and greatest version for vB3. Beyond that, I cannot be more specific.
