I want to create a website with free information about historical wars and the progresses of each faction in that war on a map.
Somethink like this:

How can I make it? Is that possible with Wordpress?

Yes it is possible with Wordpress. Just install the right themes and plugins (for instance directory listing theme from themeforest.net), set it up and your good to go.

Give me an example geographical area with a couple of locations.
I think I might be able to come up with an example using a script called "Super Store Finder":
Super Store Finder Preview - CodeCanyon
They have a stand-alone version and a WordPress version.
Basically it's designed to add locations of businesses and it creates a list of them with markers.
It can be customized to display anything (with some scripting customizing experience), and use multiple markers of your own design.
It is not free though. But the time you'll save by not having to do all of the Google Map scripting is well worth the cost.
Create a couple of icons that are about 32 pixels wide and about 40 pixels tall, with a pointed bottom.
Post a link to those icons.
Post a city or area you want and a couple of GPS locations for the pointers.
Maybe by Sunday I could throw out a working example using the Super Store Finder script.
