Thats pretty much most commercial CMS'. Grab a theme and throw it up on Wordpress. You will be limited on what you can customize but thats the compromise you make. You could also hire a professional to do the programming and save yourself a lot of problems.

It really doesn't matter. The big problem with the question is that it indicates a larger issue i.e. that your site is going to be unoriginal in content, features, or both.

Usually when people are looking for a CMS, they give some indication of what they hope it will accomplish. You haven't.

You can take a Wordpress theme and pretty much brand it to what you want it to look like with the right plugins.

We use a lot of these themes for the sliders, colors and navigation menus. We take everything off the pages and make them full page layouts and then build from that to give our clients what they want and need.

These are the plugins we use on 99% of our WP sites. You can make a theme look just about anyway you want with these.

I am guessing your question asking about CMS websites is more based on a lack of experience creating web sites rather than needing some unique features that a CMS based website could provide.

If that is the reason you are asking then I would say yes a CMS based web site would be a good choice for you. WordPress is the most common CMS program. Here are some of the pluses about WordPress. First off it is free. It is easy to install, (usually one click) There are also a lot of nice free templates to make creating your site easy. Of course there are also lots of paid templates. There is a lot of support for WordPress including lots of tutorials on YouTube, and support forums on There are a lots of plugins that increase the functionality. The most common are the ones Blue Canon listed in the last post. Wordpress is pretty much drag and drop so adding content is fairly easy. I really like the menu set up with wordpress. Creating fairly sophisticated menus are a breeze and can be done in a minute or two.

Although you can create a web site using WordPress making some modifications can be pretty tricky for a novice which is one good reason to think about hiring a professional to create your site.

Of course if you don't have much technical knowledge than it's better for you to work with any CMS, because most of the things are automatically done in the C\MS you only need to go through it's documentation to produce the required results.
