Reccomendations for order management backend software for ecommerce website?

I hope this is the correct place to post...

We have an ecommerce website and right now when a customer places an order the order info simply populates into a Google spreadsheet.

We need something better than a Google spreadsheet to manage orders from creation to shipment and everything in between.

I would appreciate any suggestions on what would work well to manage orders that come in through the website. We are pretty low tech, so we would prefer something easy to deploy and integrate.

Your e-commerce website populates a Google spreadsheet? That's insane. I've never heard of that before.

Unfortunately, you're probably not going to find something easy to deploy and integrate since I can't think of an off-the-shelf cart that does that. Someone did some programming in all likelihood to make that happen, and what that person was thinking is beyond me.

Your answer probably comes down to "you'll need a developer, and there are probably more issues inside of that cart that you're aware of."

What GAME is saying, I believe assumes that you want to continue populating the Google Spreadsheet.

I read your question a little differently, and am assuming you're wanting to replace that process, and I'll tell you that most off the shelf e-commerce platforms will do that. The question is, what do you need to go along with it, and does that include replacing your existing site in its entirety? That will help us point you in the right direction, though there's still a 99% chance you're going to need to hire someone to implement it for you.

Actually, I assumed that they wouldn't want to. It didn't make sense to me why anyone would in the first place.

That's why I said what I said. Someone has thought this through in a way that doesn't seem to connect the dots logically. It appears to be something non-standard. That means that if you're going to use an off-the-shelf product, you're likely replacing the entire site.

Oh, well I completely misread you. It sounded like you were saying, "if you want to maintain the spreadsheet thing, you're going to need a developer to make it happen". Either way, the point is the same: ditch that **** and do something else.
