    Hey.

What I am trying to do (favour for a friend) is to put online his shops employee's shifts.

I propose to allow a text file upload with the necessary data in this file in the format employee number date, shift
    Such as

    and so on..

The only problems (other than having to loop through using file() and exploding a lot, is what if they upload a file that says employee 10 is working 1800-2000 on the 06/06/06 and then uploads a new file saying that on that date, this employee is working a 1700-1900.

Just wanted to see if you guys think my intended method is feasible or have any other ways?

    Cheers

It is feasible but may be a long way round.

You could have the script check whether an existing record for employee x is already present on date y and then switch to overwrite the entry rather than just insert it. Simply concantonating the employee number and date would be a rough and ready way of doing this.
