    Hi,

Im creating a site that will be in English and running on a MYSQL DB.

My client has just asked about the feasability of creating a Russian version of the site which shouldnt be a problem but will I run into issues with the DB Collation? It is currently set to latin1_swedish_ci but I am unsure if this will allow all the Russian characters.

Will I have to change it to something else or will this be sufficiant?

    Thanks

Yes you have to change it to prevent problems even if it works atm. Search up the encoding/whatever for russian charecters. Or you can use utf-8, but I'm not sure if that'll work.

    Cheers mate,

Looks like I need to use one of these:

    cp866 (DOS Russian) collations:
    cp866_bin
    cp866_general_ci (default)

    koi8r (KOI8-R Relcom Russian) collations:

    koi8r_bin
    koi8r_general_ci (default)

Il investigate which one I need nearer the time but glad I know that I will need to use a different one
