Ive spent the last couple of months getting stable with JavaScript and Jquery. I currently enjoy both. However i was to go deeper in design. That being said i would like to create a site that i can be able to load a template ive created. I want it to display certain values, etc etc. I know i will have to get into some serious PHP and SQL, but i am lost in where i should start or how i should start. I would like to be able to find a way to possible build a dashboad to maintain the site. Ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

What specifically are you wanting to update?

The way Joomla works is off of articles. With the CMS you can enable editing on the frontend (usually for clients) or the Backend. Its fantastic.

Infact Joomla let you have a free trial of the software on their servers. www.joomla.org check it out sign up and play with it. Its definitely worth it... And its 100% free

can you integrate fedex shipping?? I have found some script to track all shipping through my site. Overall i know this is a huge project, the design is done, im just trying to figure out the backend. If i can get the backend working great it will lead to other sites.

Yes i believe you can, There is a shipping support component that you can download. The best thing i suggest is go to joomla.org and sign up for a 30 day site, just to play around with. and once you get an idea on it get it installed on your actual host
