Is there a way to recover accidental deletion of tables in a MySQL database? Though this seems to be a hopeless question being that I did not make a backup. I'm just hoping for a miracle

Did your host make a backup?

It's a longshot, but it's all I can think of.

I've worked with most types of DB's over the years... And when you delete a table... It's pretty much gone... Because of the indexes and record locking... It can't hold onto anything

Some systems automatically make a backup of any table or schema when deleting... But I haven't seen one of those on a web server as of yet...

Sorry, know its not the answer you want...

Just a reminder... When changing the structure of any DB, best practice is to always make a backup before you do anything.

The bad news is no, without a backup, you can't get your data back.

The good news is everyone's done it, and this is a mistake you'll learn from and won't repeat.

    Sorry for your loss.

On another note, I had a thought regarding your company. Have you thought about maybe using a kitten as your logo? Myiw sounds like "mew" (kitten noise) in my head (I know it's "make your ideas work" or something... just saying).

    Anyhow....

Haha, yeah, kittens don't quite fit the concept.

It could fit if she wanted it to.

    Man... That's just ... NM

    back to the OP...

Yeah... Don't feel bad... I've deleted more tables that I'd like to admit to... Now, after getting slapped around a bit... I pretty much stick with backing up... Making a copy... Moving that copy to my local machine "before" I delete any tables... When it comes to DB's , you learn a backup / recovery strategy early on...
