    Ok i finally have mysql, apache and php installed on my computer

    The problem i was getting was to do with automatic proxies or something and it was just a tick box in Internet Options

    Well anywayz i was playing around in phpmyadmin creating a database called "vbulletin" cuz im installing vbulletin locally on my computer..

    Well i created it but nowhere did it ask me for username or passoword..

    So on the main phpmyadmin index.php i clicked "Users" i just looked thru and didn't change anything at all..

    Now i can't change anything to do with my databases

    What do i do?

    When using MySQL locally you don't need to assign databases users, just use root for everything. Since nobody outside your computer can access it this is reasonably safe before I get flamed.

    This is from mySQL manual:

    You should also add a password for the root user. The following example starts by removing the anonymous user that can be used by anyone to access the test database, then sets a root user password:

    C:\> C:\mysql\bin\mysql mysql
    mysql> DELETE FROM user WHERE Host='localhost' AND User='';
    mysql> QUIT
    C:\> C:\mysql\bin\mysqladmin reload
    C:\> C:\mysql\bin\mysqladmin -u root password your_password
    Hope it helps.

    Open up config.inc.php from phpMyAdmin folder and make sure the proper username and password is entered on lines 69 and 70

    PHP Code:
    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['user']='root'// MySQL user
    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['password']='<password>';// MySQL password (only needed
