You have a thread for requesting services why not write one for advertising and let each person have a single ad there?

people would sign up solely for the ad. that would take away from what this site is, and im sure i can speak for many other members when i say i'd like wdf to stay the way it is.

We regularly ban advertisers, why give them a place to advertise?

well, without that even said i really doubt wdf will ever allow advertisements, especially in the manner suggested here.

wdf is a community of people helping each other, not people helping themselves.

A link to their site in their sig is good enough for advertisment just as long as they post a few good posts to get it out there. You'd be surprised how many people visit sites through profiles and signatures.

    true a link is good
it was just a suggestion like after so many td's are earned let them have one or after so many posts are made? i was not suggesting you give someone ad space as soon as they join.

While I agree with Filburt in that "no news is good news", this idea isn't half bad, as they would honestly have to help out others in order to get TDs. When this happens, they could have one ad post in an ad section. Promotes helpfulness and at the same time could easily filter out the poser web designers who try to come in here saying they know everything.
