The new posts search, well doesn't seem to show the news posts. Or at least, it doesn't show posts that you [user logged on] has made.

Not sure if this makes sense, but whenever I make a new post, then go to New Posts, it's not there.

    Thanks

A post that you make is always immediately marked as read by vBulletin (which makes sense if you think about it), therefore it's not new.

Yeah, does make sense. However, most vB forums still display threads that have been read.

I'm not completely sure how it works, but a record is stored each time someone makes a 'new' search, and that search record holds a date of when the search was made. So it grabs anything posted since last search/last login/start of session and the new search date. Then it just displays the read posts as read.

I find it a lot easier to track posts I've made, as all I ever use is the new posts function. If you're unsure, have a look around other vB forums

    Cheers

The problem is that 3.5 marks posts in the database (as I set it up as necessary) rather than by cookies. Unavoidable.
