    If you join this forum using a Hotmail address, you will forever have trouble replying to the auto alerts from your hotmail. The forum gets trapped in the Hotmail frame, and your login cookies won't work.

    This is solved by adding the following script in the bottom of the header box of the "styles" in your vB admin panel:

    <script>
    <!--
    /*
    Break-out-of-frames script
    By JavaScript Kit (http://javascriptkit.com)
    Over 400+ free scripts here!
    Above notice MUST stay entact for use
    */
    if (window!= top)
    top.location.href=location.href
    // -->
    </script>

    Log-in cookies then can work--and also, no more Hotmail frame, which is darn annoying.

    Maybe but there's no way I'm keeping that copyright notice considering it's two lines of code and they can't be rewritten.

    Technically yes but there's no other realistic way of writing that.

    To remove the copyright legally:

    1. Edit the code out of my message above.
    2. Start new discussion asking for help from somebody who knows JS.
    3. That somebody must provide a notarized statement that he has never seen this code done before, and never been to javascriptkit.com (Notarizing can be done free by the town clerk of many small towns, or maybe a few dollars.)
    4. So if such a person writes such a code, it is now his code, which he can give to you.

    This is how Microsoft legally copies ideas from Netscape, and vice-versa, etc., etc., etc.

    yeah that pisses me off when you get a reply in hotmail and then it gets timed out after a while :angry:

    surely you would know this script in the first place though... it looks pretty basic?

    That's like trying to copyright:
    PHP Code:
    echo "Hello, world!"
    ...which you can, but is stupid.

    I'll think about it (more importantly I'll make it only work for when the referrer is hotmail).
