    As I moused over the menu at the top of the page after clearing my cache, I noticed that the mouseovers were slow on the first mouse-over. Are the mouseover images preloaded here?

    Yes and no. In IE for Windows, they don't for some reason. In every other browser I've used, they are. Go figure...
