Dreamweaver is a load of crap if you are using it for anything other than a text editor. The live preview is horrible. The drag n drop is crap and will add unneeded code that will slow your load speeds .

When im on my windows and editing scripts for a game server i have i use Notepadd++ and love it! When im on my mac and am coding a website i am usually on Brackets. On occasion i like to switch up my view and will use sublime which is also a great text editor.

With all that said these are just simple text editors like Microsoft notepad/word with a feature that will color the syntax for better reading. You dont need any fancy software to code a site. Just the understanding of the syntax and coding language you are using.
