Went to www webdesignforums.net/ today after some absence. First line on the page tells me (what I'd been suspecting) that IE5 is not standards compliant. Offers an FAQ link for specifics where I read "Avatars are slightly offset in posts."

Looked for the next 20 minutes for a definition for avatar. (I went to w3c for my quest.) I give up.

where can I find definition of avatar? I'll need to know what is meant by "posts" too.

An avatar is the little icon on every post a user makes. Mine is a little man, while yours is the standard shadow.
