    Filburt,

You could create a simple form (as a custom "MOTM_FORM" template) in which a member's name is entered. The form could post to a script that auto-adds the member to a poll if the member is not already listed there, otherwise just adds a vote for that member. The MotM thread could be a simple poll thread, so no custom programming there. All you'd have to add is a simple custom template for the form and a custom processing script, which would redirect back to the poll thread when complete anyway.

    Whaddya think?

Sounds like a good idea. Would it be that people could put the member they are voting for in the box and submit it that way? Instead of having to count them up at the end of a month of posting?

    Would be a lot easier.
Wouldn't that mean people could vote for themselves though?

The advantage is that the script can very easily validate the nominations.

Or easy as the fact that all you have to do is you type in a name, you cna only vote once per month, when you submit your vote, it checks the user base. If the user does not exist or you are querying for yourself, then you return an error.

Then, have a database that holds each voted for member, as well as how many votes each.

OR, you could have a new poll type that lets you add a member, that has to be found in the database, as well the fact they should require "x" posts to be nominated. No user can be nominated more than once.
